Of the many things in this big, wide world that fascinate me, the tools people use in the practice of their spiritual beliefs are some of the most intriguing. They are sometimes looked on as representative of divinity, sometimes as actual body and blood of their figurehead. Sometimes they are understood as symbol, as metaphor for something believed to be real but yet unseen.
I’ve decided to make you, dear readers, a promise. It’s probably a little odd, but it will set a stage for me, give me the kind boundaries and ground rules that my psyche seems to demand. You see, I need permission. Granting MYSELF permission is a task I keep on my to-do list because it rises over and over again that I am SEEKING that permission… When I don’t really need anyone else to give it to me.
Some important milestones are approaching for our family and it has me reviewing just how far we've come along this shared experience. It's so hard to remember where you've been (even when you document a LOT), so that it often feels like you're just starting out. You can overcome this with a single reminder: If you weren't born today, then you're not at the beginning of the journey.
Yes, I wrote this last week. Yes, I forgot that I had written it. Each step happens when I'm ready, I suppose.
You have just stepped into a sacred space: I am revealing a very deep, long-held desire herein. And I don’t know "for absolute certain” that I will be able to deliver. That’s why I’m bringing this to you, my sweet reader, to have and to hold.

Handwritten Blog Post - Attempt #1
Though a confluence of things brought this blog to life, there is one very specific reason why it came into being WHEN it did. You see, I am what Marie Forleo calls "multipassionate" and have what, in education and psychology, is termed "multipotentiality." In short, it means that I have SO many ideas I want to explore that I tend to either freeze up or scatter my energies wildly. For the past couple years, I have been working diligently to find ways to bring some semblance of consistency to my creative endeavors. I'm finding out that it's a long, arduous, challenging, and ultimately fulfilling process.
